BarlowGirl became the best selling new artist of 2004. They have recently won several awards in their genre; their song "Never Alone" was the longest running #1 song in 2004 on Radio and Records Christian Hit Radio (CHR) and Christian Rock charts, and was the "Song of the Year" on both charts. The girls began their career by singing backup for their father, Vince Barlow, but soon became a group of their own. The band has gained a following with their message from Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." They elaborated on this message with their song “Gray” from their second album, Another Journal Entry. In 2007, the sisters were youth ambassadors for the National Day of Prayer.
