Ever aware of the failings of human language, when asked to describe his music, the Philadelphia based singer/songwriter, Craig Bancoff declines an answer, preferring to let the music speak for itself. With many genres at its roots, Craig's eclectic music reflects elements of indie, pop, classical, Americana, folk and blues. His compositional approach to writing and recording is unique, yet accessible. Listening to Craig's music is like looking at a colorful tapestry. Weaving words with soundscapes like an impressionist using a brush and canvas, his music is alive. Immediately catchy, yet subtle, the songs evolve to reveal their deeper layers with each listen. Always inspirational, Craig's emotional honesty and willingness to bare his soul challenge the listener to do the same. His evocative voice is the perfect accompaniment to any mood. For over ten years, Craig has been clean and sober and has recovered from what he describes as a hellish addiction to drugs and alcohol. This has been followed by now over 8 years of chronic illness at the hands of Lyme Disease, which has periodically taken away his ability to sing and play his instruments. All of this has made his music a cathartic necessity. Rare is the combination of passion and urgency that Craig brings to his artful craft. Craig says that at times he has written to save his own life, “It felt important to tell my story in a way that could help others who were suffering. My music offers me that opportunity.” Over the last decade, Craig has written, produced and recorded nine of his own albums.
