Byron and the ASM (This is my son writing from Europe)Edit
Many of my coworkers, past and present, knew of the horrible accident my son, Byron, was in just 2 years ago.  This was a tragic time for us as a family and brought many of us closer together.  Byron is doing very well and is walking again.  Because Byron was granted more time on earth he has decided to “pay God back” so to speak, for that favor.  He has been traveling the last 6 months doing missionary work with The Anchor School of Ministry in Nashville Tennessee.  He works with underprivileged children, helps tutors students, councils the youth, does volunteer work for different churches, and preaches out on the street to the homeless.  For the past two weeks Byron has been in Europe.  I don’t get to share much with all of you on a daily basis but I thought I would forward his latest blog to give you an idea of what became of Byron Gomez…..(Melissa Matherne)

Adventures in Czechland!
Today I got to do something that I don't think I have ever done. I was asked to pray for an elderly man here in the Czech Republic. It wasn't anything special. I just prayed basic and simple prayers like thanking God for this man's wisdom and blessing his relationship with the youth of the church, so that he may teach them the things that he has learned from his long journey of life. It doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but it meant so much to me. A few days ago I realized that I was living one of my many dreams by being here in Europe. Here I am with tattoos, piercings, goofy clothes, and a mullet doing the work of the Lord across the world. I realized that not only was I 'proving' to the church that you can look like an idiot and still love Jesus, but I was more importantly proving to kids in my own culture that the church was meant for harmony. It was the same sense of accomplishment with this man. After praying with him he stood up and did his best to utter the words "Thank you, Jesus, for this brother" as he through his arms around me and hugged me. I almost got overwhelmed with emotion because I realized that if I were to die in that very moment that I would feel as if my life were complete. I know that it is a foolish way of thinking, but in that moment was a dream come true. A dream that I have been dreaming of for years and years. A dream that seemed impossible. A dream that God has allowed me to accomplish before the age of 18 was expired. It is truly great seeing God's romances for us. I even find beauty and delight in the times that it seems as if He is absent. I hope God is with you all.

never sell out.

  Blessing

Bryon sounds like a very interresting young man that Jesus is blessing at an earley age. Sometimes things happen that are very depressing but God is faithful and if we let Him will turn the worst situations into good. May God bless you both.
