Kutless previously used the name "Call Box", as a Worship band from 2000-2001. As Kutless, they have released four full-length studio albums, the most recent being titled Hearts of the Innocent (2006). They are currently working on a fifth alubum: To Know that You’re Alive. The current “fivesome”, Jon Micah Sumrall, James Mead, Dave Leutkenhoelter, Jeffrey Gilbert and Nick DePartee, has spent considerable time and effort recently contributing to charities, such as a concert to benefit Katrina victims. The band explains its name in reference to Romans 6:23: “Christ took our beating and paid the wages of our sin.” They respond, “He took our cuts for us…leaving us Kutless”.
